Every Form Matters: DPSCD Families Encouraged to Complete the Education Benefits Form

Completing the Education Benefits Form helps Detroit Public Schools Community District secure critical resources that support students, schools and families.

Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) is encouraging all families to complete and return the Education Benefits Form (EBF) as soon as possible.

Although all DPSCD students receive meals at no cost, the Education Benefits Form remains extremely important. Information collected through the form helps the District identify student and household needs and may impact funding and resources available to support our schools and students.

Why Is the Education Benefits Form Important?

The Education Benefits Form is about more than school meals. The information provided can help DPSCD demonstrate the needs of the students and communities we serve and support access to important educational resources and programs.

That’s why every completed form matters.

Families are strongly encouraged not to wait until the October 14 deadline. Completing the form early gives school staff adequate time to receive, review and process submissions and helps the District work toward full participation and the most funding.

Families: Complete Your Form Today

DPSCD asks families to complete one Education Benefits Form per household and return it to their child’s school as soon as possible.

Families who prefer to complete the process online may visit the Division of School Nutrition webpage and select the Education Benefits Form tab.

Printable forms are also available in:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Arabic
  • Bengali

Families who need assistance completing the form should contact their child’s school.

School Leaders: Your Support Is Critical

Principals and school administrators play an important role in helping DPSCD achieve strong Education Benefits Form participation.

Administrators are asked to make EBF completion a priority within their schools by regularly reminding families to submit their forms and reinforcing the importance of timely collection and processing with school clerical staff.

Clerical teams should ensure that completed forms are received, reviewed and processed promptly rather than waiting until the October 14 deadline approaches.

Consistent follow-up throughout September can make a significant difference.

Don’t Wait Until the Deadline

The October 14 deadline will arrive quickly. Families can help their schools by completing the Education Benefits Form now, and school teams can help by ensuring every form received is processed in a timely manner.

Every family. Every form. Every school. Every form matters.

Complete your Education Benefits Form today and help DPSCD continue securing resources that support the success of our students.
